School Supply Store, LLC – Green Store We are committed to being environmentally responsible in any way that we can. Electronic Books - Although part of our business relies on paper and the conversion of raw pulp to produce and manufacture a big part of what we sell, we have invested time and money into the creation and distribution of electronic content / e-books. The distribution of electronic books eliminates the printed materials and process of traditional books as well as the transportation costs and fuel consumption in order to get that book from us to you. Electronic Order Processing – When you place an order at School Supply Store.com know that your order is electronically transmitted and exchanged through each of our many departments (from accounting all the way down to picking your order) to eliminate paper waste. We take pride in not only having a sophisticated process that eliminates waste but it also allows us to opperate efficiently. Lighting – Our main office in Phoenix (Valley of the Sun) operates in a naturally-lit office. No lamps, bulbs, or anything other than the natural light from the sun. Many of our distribution centers have also been able to adapt to operation in natural lighting whenever possible. Electronic Catalogs – Although we have not been able to fully eliminate the use of printed catalogs, we are also very proud of our initiative to distribute electronic catalogs. You can download an e-catalog from our site or receive one via email that will allow you to shop, post notes, forward to friends and even complete an order all without the use of a printed catalog or order form. Packaging Materials – Our distribution centers pack and ship thousands of orders a day. Over 90% of our orders are packed with recycled materials and in many cases in a recycled box or shipping container. As long as your orders continue to arrive on time and in good shape we will continue to use recycled packaging materials to buffer the space in each carton. We will continue to invest and improve whenever and wherever we can in order to not leave our mark on the environment.
